Sony and Power Storage Management
Sony has been issued a patent for a power storage management system, enabling users to better understand their energy needs.
The system enables users, through a mobile device, to directly communicate with their power storage device and route power to any appliance connected to the power storage device.
Sony has nearly 30 patent and patent applications within this sector, the majority classified under the “Platform Architecture” subcategory. It is likely this system is incorporated within Sony Computer Science Laboratories, Inc. (Sony CSL) projects. Sony CSL is focused on Open Energy System technologies for managing electricity in communities from individual homes and facilities, including production rates from renewable energy sources.
