Drone delivery in China

DHL Express has partnered with EHang, a Chinese UAV company, to launch a fully automated and intelligent smart drone delivery solution in urban China. Given the complex road conditions and heavy traffic of cities, the program will be able to significantly reduce delivery time, operational costs, energy consumption, and more compared to road transportation. EHang‘s drones are powerful in both hardware and software. They can carry 5 kg packages over 8 km, and two of the company’s currently pending applications are directed to flight control. Perhaps the presence of US patent documents indicates that EHang plans to vie for market share in the States as well.
