Canadian drone partnership
In a commercial agreement expected to boost Canada’s drone industry, Air Canada‘s cargo unit will be marketing and selling the drone delivery services of Drone Delivery Canada (DDC). DDC has unmanned aerial vehicles that can carry up to 400 pounds, and the partnership recognizes its potential value in serving remote communities. In fact, DDC has several US patent applications that relate to managing drones’ freight network, flight control, and delivery of medical supplies. Its focused IP portfolio may have played a role in clearly communicating its goals to and partnering with Canada’s largest airline.
