Patents Aid Acquisition Yet Again

Online job recruitment platform Job.com has acquired Talenting, which develops a blockchain-based system for aggregating and assessing professional data in order to streamline job searching and hiring. Job.com already implements blockchain and smart contract technology in the hiring process but focuses these efforts on helping potential employers who use the site. Talenting adds more benefits for the job candidates, thus creating a more attractive overall product.

The Patent Forecast® shows that Job.com is gaining much more than new product features in the acquisition. While Job.com does not have any published patents or applications of its own, Talenting has one issued patent as well as a continuation application for workforce data management using blockchain. Talenting positioned itself well for acquisition by investing in patent assets, which grant exclusive rights, and Job.com took advantage of the opportunity to create a patent portfolio. Will Job.com continue to acquire? Or will the company start looking into its own patents? You can keep track of these companies and more on the Cryptocurrency Patent Forecast®
