DJI drones helped save Notre-Dame
Drones played a part in quenching the fires at The Notre-Dame de Paris last week. The emergency response teams used at least two UAVs: a Mavic Pro and a Matrice M210, both by DJI. The drone footage helped the fire-fighters gauge the intensity and movement of the fire, optimize their operation, and position the fire hoses. Notably, DJI is one of the leaders in patent activity for this space in the US and has published technology directed to a wide variety of technologies, including management of flight-restriction regions and multi-sensor calibration. The technology may have played a role in equipment selection in Paris and provides a strong position in the UAV market.
