A Berry Good Idea?
Rentberry Inc. is a rental service platform that was founded in 2015 and is based in San Francisco, CA. They have raised over $8.8 Million to date with their most recent funding round on May 29th, 2020. They have focused on blockchain since the beginning, even earning a mention in The Harvard Crimson for Rentberry’s BERRY token and efforts to help students find affordable housing.
Rentberry has recently joined the Securities Tokenization sector in the physical assets category with a patent application that teaches a method for managing rental reservations with a transparent ecosystem that runs on blockchain. The Physical Assets category of Securities Tokenization is very open right now, as discussed here, and Rentberry’s previous experience with blockchain may help them to establish dominance in the category. Given that the Real Estate sub-category has just over 10 documents in the past three years, Rentberry could very well be a key figure in the space if they act quickly.
