Cardiac Pacemakers, a subsidiary of Boston Scientific, is stratifying the risk of heart failure decompensation. A medical device receives chronic condition indicators, senses physiologic signals from the patient, and generates signal metrics from the physiologic signals when the first chronic condition indicator and the second chronic condition indicator meet their respective criteria. A risk stratification algorithm computes a composite risk index indicative of the probability of the patient later developing an event indicative of worsening of heat failure.
